Why John?

Since memorizing the nearly 20,000 words which comprise the fourth Gospel, this has been the one question most frequently asked of me. I can only respond as other believers have by stating that John's Gospel is nourishment for the mind, heart and soul. Christ communicates with a directness, passion and authority which speaks not only to the body of believers but to each of us as individuals.

My mission first and foremost in presenting John is to deepen by relationship with Christ. Secondly, by drawing on my own faith in the Word and by utilizing the gifts God has given me in my work as a professional actor, I hope to continue bringing John's entire Gospel to vivid life in performance.

Please join me in re-experiencing the greatest story ever told. In the time it takes to watch a few prime-time television programs, one can see and hear a complete Gospel performed live.

Through God's continued blessing, this work has already changed my life. I believe hearing John's Gospel in this unique way will have the power to enrich your faith as it has mine. -----Brad Sherrill

"John's was not just another gospel. Matthew's, Mark's, and Luke's read like journalistic reports of events in the life of Jesus. But John wrote literature -- evocative, nuanced stories of Jesus' life and relationships with his disciples. In the Theater Alliance's The Gospel of John, actor Brad Sherrill capitalizes on the book's dramatic potential and creates a riveting one-man show. He recites the entire text verbatim, portraying Jesus, the people he met, and the evangelist's narrative voice, replete with love, wisdom, and sorrow..."
